I've freelanced in radio production for over two decades, working around the world, including London's historic Bush House, New York and even Dili, Timor Lorosa'e.

I produce, present and edit audio features and documentaries.

My interview with Pete Malinowski, co-founder of the Billion Oyster Project in New York City ran on BBC's Outlook. This photo is Pete checking on some oyster beds in the East River. It was a beautiful day out on the water, with a great organization.

Leon and Brian Dewan are musicians and passionate creators of homemade instruments. When their Swarmatron machine was used by Trent Reznor in the soundtrack for The Social Network, these two cousins in upstate New York went from relative obscurity, to Hollywood-famous, when the film's score won the Academy Award. I loved meeting them and seeing all their creations--many mounted on Zimmer frames!

Lisa and Frank Owens are some of the loveliest people I've ever met. When Frank was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, at age 59, he decided to go back to school to keep his mind active. Ten years later, Lisa, who got her degree at 61-years-old, was able to award him his diploma. They never gave up, and have inspired so many people.

Dominic von Hapsburg was born in Bran Castle near Transylvania. His family was forced into exile during the Communist takeover and he thought he'd never see his home again. But in the mid-2000s, he was able to reclaim the castle, and he told me how he hoped this would help heal the past for both him and his country.

Computers vs Humans on the crossword page. The computer Dr. Fill (nice pun) created by Matt Ginsberg, took on all challengers at the Crossword Championship in New York City. Most excitingly, Will Shortz gave his opinion of the matter (that's a word with two syllables and starts with an m.)

I loved spending a day with the dedicated volunteers at WJFF and meeting the people who make the water-powered radio station run. (Also, I think I recorded this on mini-disc!) It was some time ago!

That time that the national wrestling teams from Iran, Russia and the USA met on the mat at Grand Central Station, in a bid to keep wrestling in the Olympics.

What a day--the inauguration of President Obama. I loved travelling to DC with Tanya Fields and her children. It was crowded, freezing cold and we were all so tired. But we never lost the excitement. Listen closely and you'll hear me get a little choked up when the ceremony begins.

David Sax is leading a charge to revive the traditional Jewish deli, in his book, Save the Deli: in Search of Perfect Pastrami, Crusty Rye and the Heart of a Jewish Delicatesan. I sat down with him for lunch in Brooklyn and was full for days! Lots of cured meats here....
